Yurt Platforms

Choose from two styles of platforms to build your yurt:

1. Standard Wooden Platform: poured concrete footings, posts, beams and joists. An engineered platform is required to meet the full snow and wind loads of a Rainier Yurt.

2. Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) Platform: 6" pre-insulated R-24 foam-core decking can span a full eight feet. It comes pre-cut to the exact diameter of your yurt. Use of Structural Insulated Panels for your platform help you build your platform faster, with fewer parts. SIPs are available directly from Rainier. An engineered platform is required to meet the full snow and wind loads of a Rainier Yurt.

3. An engineered platform is designed to withstand more demanding wind and snow loads for your specific site. A sample of an engineered platform plan set can be seen here.
